Been Out Heroing

I have been running around kicking some serious butt as of late. Night time patrol involves a lot of assaults and only a little drug busting.  No sight of Lane recently.  I guess it is pretty dumb to assume I'd run into the same person twice with random encounters.  Basic obstacle course is done, I've been playing on that a bit.  I hope nobody injures themselves on it.  Lots of rope, logs, and height involved.  It is good for jumping and climbing practice.  Since my powers don't really allow me to do any supernatural feats of agility I need some practice in that area.  I need to make sure that I am at least a bit well rounded in the field.  I learned I can project out Taken up to somebody to drop them.  It is useful if the two guys with guns aren't near each other and I need to drop them at the same time.

Regular bad guys aren't any trouble unless it is a big group of them.  Injuries heal extremely fast, basically gone in one night. Maybe I should go on a quest to try and get a new demon? I wonder if I could do that.

Been Out

Hey, sorry I have been out everyone. I met this girl the other night. Her name is Lane. I am interested in her, she has long brown hair, she is not to much taller than 5 foot. She is a college girl and hangs out with a frat. She is really bold and has a lot of personality. But I think she has a power...
Oh, and I did introduce myself to her. Here is how the story goes. She was walking with a friend when 4 guys in a car rolled up. The 4 guys were hooting and hollering at her from the car, and the frat guy she was with yelled something back that pissed them off. So they got out of the car to go over to them. Lane didn't back away or anything even though frat boy seemed nervous. When the guys got over to them they actually beat on frat boy a little and sent him packing. But Lane still didn't seem nervous so I was confused as to whether or not she was really in trouble. The guys were saying things to her and one of them started to put his hands on her so I started to move in.  But she whispered something in the guys ear while I was getting ready for the jump. And the one guy she whispered something to turned on his friends? In Angel Band vision terms, the guy's spirit color jumped straight to this dark pine greenish color, which I am now assuming is jealousy. The guy apparently wanted Lane all to himself enough that he started fighting with his friends. I was done with this though so I jumped in, hit two down with my bat, and then grabbed the other two to stun them and hit their heads together.
Lane looked kind of surprised, but not like she was freaked out or anything. And at that very moment, I realized something important. I knew a better super hero outfit. She said, "You really should get some less baggy clothing." I asked her if she was okay? If she needed assistance getting somewhere by herself? If she knew that this is a dangerous area for a girl to be walking all by herself? She just told me that she can handle herself. And as she walked away she ran a finger along my back.  And I felt stupid all of a sudden.  Like the dumbstruck love kind of stupid.  But that went away quickly because I remembered my girl back home. Anyway, I think she can mess with peoples emotions with her touch... Maybe I'll see her around again sometime.

Other than that, what has been going on is I've been building an obstacle course in a park. The park I found is never patrolled on the inside so I made a fake sign stating that park renovations have been funded by a private donor and included a little pamphlet about what the obstacle course is supposed to represent when it is finished. It is a bunch of bull, but it looks pretty legit. I got the area surrounded with orange cones, the sign in two spots, and the little pamphlets hanging off each sign.  I've been working on it early in the morning to late in the afternoon like I am an official one man team. And if people come over and ask, I pretend to be official.  The runners that go by seem to be more excited in anticipation for it to be finished than curious about why a wealthy donor would be renovating an infrequently used wooded park with his only demand being that they city puts in a obstacle course.  I have also got a few people who have asked where the rest of the workers are at a few times and I've tried to slide around that with mention of union strikes that have been going on. It has been a lot of work and I want to get it done so people will be less likely to tear it down.  There is stuff to climb, stuff to jump over, stuff to climb then jump from, there is a mud pit under a lot of it and it is built out of some trees that the park is now missing.  I need to learn how to make a rope bridge like boy scouts make.  And I have been looking at a few different obstacle courses to get ideas from as well.  Anyway, I am headed out, I don't usually stay in during the morning this late. Laters.

Patrol - 9/15/10

Last night was kind of quiet.  Not a good money making night for me.  But there was a pretty good fight last night.  I think I am getting to be a bit stronger on the hero track now that I have Taken.  There was a brawl last night.  A few guys with bats, chains, knifes, and the sort met up with some other guys with the same type of equipment.  Anyway, I ended up joining the brawl.

The fight was starting when I got there.  I discovered that Taken allows me to fight much better against people.  If I hold onto somebody, they start to seize.  If I punch them with a closed fist they seem to be dazed.  Either way the fight went from something little to big pretty quickly because more people from back alleys joined in at different points.  It was like an X vs X vs 1.  Either way I don't even feel blunt pain to much anymore from fists.  Bats and stuff bother me less than they used too.  Knife wounds heal even faster.  Even lethal blows I can get up from pretty quickly.  Nothing was too deadly that I got, I caught a knife or two in the back at the fight.  But I could get up and keep going after being down for a minute.  Either way I dropped a bunch of people, they could always get back up from it.  But my punches do something to a person's vitals now, I think that is more effective than just the blunt force.  Cops showed up at some point and everyone cheesed it.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better night for patrol. But tonight was fun.

Power Discovery #5

So today I worked my Demon Band some more.  New demon does different things.  I will call him Taken.  Taken looks like a black silhouette of a lanky bald man.  His eyes are a purple black and gray light that is kind of clouded.  He is about 5 feet tall.

I can project out Fallen as well as Taken simultaneously or one at a time.  Taken is one of the demons that took the soul of the guy the other day.  As far as I can tell when they are both projected the distance they can be from me is a little farther than it is for just one.  The distance increase is about 10'.  So Taken and Fallen get along so far as I can tell.  They act independently and interact when they are projected, but they have to obey me when I command them.  I left them both projected, and while I was paying attention to Taken, Fallen went next door and began to cause the neighbor to be afraid.  Taken doesn't really misbehave, he sticks around me.  He doesn't influence peoples emotions.  I asked him to do what he does once as long as it doesn't kill somebody.  He gave somebody a seizure by touching them.  I told him to stop and Taken let go, then the man was better.

When Fallen is projected and not Taken I still heal faster.  Taken also makes my breath chill glasses and create a layer of frost on water.  I haven't tried touching anybody yet.  Maybe I will notice something new during a fist fight later.

When I have both Fallen and Taken in the band my breath is still a little warmer than it should be, but not by much. I heal faster, I'd say about twice as fast with them both in the Demon Band.  I was working on breath control a bit and I can get my breath up to being as hot or as cold as Fallen or Taken allowed, but it requires some time.  Other than this apparent things, I haven't noticed a difference.

I experimented with the breath temperature change.  I projected Taken out so my breath would be only heat.  I warmed up a rock for awhile so it reached as hot as I could get it.  Then I called Taken back in and projected Fallen out so my breath would be cold.  I fast cooled the rock with my now cold breath and broke it with a hammer.  It wasn't like it was too brittle or anything, but it was probably easier to break.

I am going to go out tonight and see if I am any better than before.  I am getting in a better natural physical shape as well.  I have gained weight, I can lift more, run faster, jump higher, and I have more energy.  It isn't like it is superhuman though.  I am just getting in really good shape for a guy of 170lbs.

Interesting Experience

So the other night I was out doing some crime fighting.  I did something that is not a good thing.  While busting a drug deal a guy pointed a gun at me.  I think I shot his soul out of his body.  I raised my hand at his at him and a black funnel looking sunburst came out of my hand and went through him.  Through one of my eyes I saw his physical body seize and then fall.  With the Angel Band sight I saw his soul get pushed outside of his body.  It was shaped just as his body. He looked around for a second.  Then these other beings I could see with my spirit sight phased in around the guys body and it looked like they pulled him down into the earth.  I raised my hand again (apparently hand raising is dangerous and significant) and the purplish vortex from the Demon Band ate one of the demons.  I need to figure out what has changed.  So I am not going out tonight.  Talk to you people tomorrow.

Patrol - 9/11/10

September 11th.  I'd like to write where I was at, but it is confidential.  You know the whole, hero's secret identity thing.  I saw some guys out by a fire department last night drinking and throwing bottles on their lot.  I didn't do anything to the people but I picked up after them.
I did smack some people around last night though.  A woman and man were getting jumped in an alley by a group.  I took out the beat stick and opened a can of whoop ass.  But the guy tried to help I think.  It isn't like he is far behind me.  There were about 6 of the bad guys.  I dropped one on the jump and another tried to hit me over the head with a bottle.  That really seems to have no effect.  Bludgeoning stuff doesn't break my skin so I am fine with those hits.  But the man tried to help by punching one of the bad guys in the kidney.  Then he jumped on another guys back and put him in a headlock.  I was taking care of the other 4 while he was brawling with his two.  But I downed my guys faster and came to help him with his.  Baseball bats make things end faster in a fight.  Anyway, I ended up getting a few shallow knife wounds.  They will be gone tomorrow.  The other guy got a black eye and a split lip, don't know what else he got under his clothes as injuries.  But he was thankful, and we sent the thugs packing
One of the knife wounds was across my forearm and I was having trouble gripping the bat so I headed in after that :/
Cincinnati is not doing to well for me so far.  But I found the martial arts group I will be joining, so at least I'll get training in during the day.

Patrol - 9/10/10

Oktoberfest is going on this weekend!  W00t!  I am going to be celebrating as well as patrolling.  But it is down in Covington. So I will be in the greater Cincinnati area.  Broke up some fights but didn't really do to much other than that.  Drunk people + Fallen's influence = crying drunks.  It is almost hilarious.  Anyway, I guess I'm helping cops out doing minor work.

Patrol - 9/9/10

I went out and first off I jumped another marijuana deal.  People just seem to do it as a quick pass off thing.  This time I tried to see if I wouldn't have to get involved.  I projected Fallen to influence the dealer and the buyer to anger.  It was a really bad idea.  The dealer started asking for more money, the dealer got angry because the buyer started bad mouthing him.  The dealer pulled a gun out and eventually there was a little bit of a tussle.  Anyway the buyer got shot and the dealer ran off because I jumped in to intervene.  I took searched the buyers pockets for his phone and called 911.  Then I used my little medkit to rap his wound.  I really don't know what to do when somebody has been shot.  Alcohol sterilizes as far as I know, and a whole lot of the clothy gauze stuff helps keep the blood in I guess.  I hope the guy didn't die.  But I couldn't stick around either.  I waited with him in sight for the ambulance to get there and they rushed him off to the hospital.  Fallen can really set people off.The next thing I ran into was actually the same guy from earlier who shot his buyer.  I guess he found somebody who owed him money and after he yelled for awhile, he pistol whipped the guy!  I thought he was an ass, either way the person who owed him money was holding his head on the ground.  And the dealers attention was at him, so I clubbed down the dealer after sneaking up behind him.  I shooed away the other guy and burned the drugs on the dealer.
The next part of the night was kind of silly.  There was an argument that I broke up.  I projected Fallen out and influenced one to anger and the other to fear.  So the afraid person ran off, then I had Fallen influence the angry guy to just be less bright in his soul.  So he stopped caring, he actually went from red to blue, he was sad or despairing over something.  I'm going to have to get used to peoples emotions and not reacting to them.
The night was pretty lame, but I ended up breaking up one more fight.  This time I used the bat, I just beat both of them up and sent them packing.  Fighting is still pretty easy for me since I don't get tired and I don't even really get bruised.

I need to start getting some good hauls in.  My leg is pretty much better after the night though, it was a pretty shallow wound.

I wonder where SuperFantastic is at?

Patrol - 9/8/10

So last night started pretty good.  I found some guys doing a little marijuana deal at a dark street corner.  I bashed the main guy down and the other guy freaked. He tried to pull a gun, but I hit it up out of his hand with the bat.  The element of surprise is nice, people don't know how to react most of the time.
I also ended up breaking up a fight outside a bar.  I projected out Fallen, and I had him go to the big guy and influence him to fear.  And when the guy who looked like he was losing came back at him he ended up backing off and running off.  Apparently Fallen can spook somebody pretty bad.
The night took a turn for the worse after that.  Some actually ended up cornering me in a street.  I am going to need to pay attention better when patrolling in Cincinnati, the city is more densely populated.  The guys asked me what I was doing on their street and called me a freak and used some pretty nasty language.  I couldn't even really understand what they were saying completely because I don't have the accent down yet.  But anyway, I ended up breaking through their line and they shot at me while I was headed off the street.  I got clipped on the leg and my back got dinged, I had my improv shield on though so it worked as good as I could have hoped.

I headed back home then because that seemed to be enough for one night for me.  The leg injury isn't to big of a concern.  I can hide it under pants.  A new concern is where to bury my bands at night.  I need a place where animals won't dig it up and where people won't get curious.  I should be in good enough shape to go out again tonight.

Hero free time activity of the day - Throwing playing cards.

Patrol - 9/7/10

Okay so Cincinnati is a whole new ball park.  It isn't a search kind of thing like my old city was.  It is more like, certain streets have scouts for the police and they do drug deals in public and there are gangs around the drug dealers.  So not only do they have eyes out, but they also have large numbers that I can't take.  My normal targets may have to change.  I guess I can try and find where the drugs are being made/grown at.  But I have a whole new deal on my plate here.  I need to get my work out there to pat rent and buy all sorts of food and training now too!

But there is violent crime all over the place here.  I beat on a few muggers last night.  I am not sure what the people are who witnessed my rescues thought of it that watched.  There were 3 mug interceptions I did, 2 people stayed and called the police and one ran.  I will describe one of the encounters.
A woman was being stalked. But I was stalking the stalker. He waited till the girl turned a corner out of sight of people and then he did a bag snatching. So I chased him down not to far of a distance. When I got close enough I threw my improv shield at the back of his legs. It tripped him up enough that I caught up to him and walloped him in the back with my bat. He went down and went to grab a gun, but I kicked it out of his hand then kicked him in the gut. The woman caught up, and I wrestled with him for a bit, but I can't wear out so he ended up wearing out. He surrendered eventually and I told him to get lost and I gave the woman her purse back.
It felt good to help, but there was no profit there.  I don't want to have to get a real job.

And question for others out there.  I discovered that homeless people steal from each other and fight.  What am I supposed to do about this?  I don't even know if the stuff they have is worth fighting for, at least I don't want to injure somebody homeless because most of them are older and I don't think they could get medical attention. Help?

Moved in to the new "lair"

So I have a lair now. It has all my top secret things inside. Like a very secret brand of protein power, secret brands of vitamins, a secret brand of energy drinks, my secret set of dumbbells, a secret bed, secret bathroom, secret fridge... the works for a secret apartment lair!

I need to meet the roommates and see whether or not they are interesting people.  See if they are nosy more specifically.  I may not be able to sneak in and out every night if they are nosy.  But I feel relieved to be out here in a new place on my own.  I will start patrolling tonight!  I hear several streets such as race and over the rhine could be problematic.

Moving Tomorrow!

Hey everybody.  Tomorrow I am moving to the new place.  So I may not be posting this weekend.  I will get back sometime during this next week though! Patrol was canceled, because of the healing times I don't want to be injured during the move.

Hope everyone has a good night.

Patrol - 9/1/10

Casual night, didn't pick fights I couldn't handle.  I'm making some money and I'm thinking I want a retractable baton that would be less bulky than my bat.  I also want something as strong as a riot shield that would be retractable, but I don't know if that kind of thing exists.  I was just in a small alley tonight, it was impossible to swing a bat in it.

Almost the weekend! I am finishing up packing tomorrow.  The dojo even refunded me my money since I can't stay.  I even found a place up around the greater Cincinnati area to go now.  I have developed a bit of a stash from all this patrol work.  I am enjoying this as a profession and Cincinnati should bring a lot of opportunity.  It is like a promotion, I am excited.  Anyway, I'm out, later everyone.

Power Discovery #4 --- Patrol - 8/31/10

Went out last night.  I figure it can be a nightly thing if I am going to make my profession being a super hero.  Maybe I will just call it being a hero now, I can't really do anything... "super".

I ended up going out, busted up a drug deal early on and picked up a bit of cash and more bullets for my collection.  I looked out at the bar that I found the girl at last night.  She wasn't there again tonight. But the guy was. It looked to me as if he was just there with friends and avoiding alcohol.  I guess a bad night "due to alcohol" can cause somebody to lay off heavy drinking for awhile.

Learned a new trick tonight.  When I was trying to see through a wall at a certain distance the Angel Band didn't reach I accidentally called out my demon in the Demon Band.  It is interesting, I lose the powers from the Demon Band to myself, but it is like I am linked to the demon.  I can communicate with him with feelings, it goes on in the head.  I am going to call him Fallen.  It isn't a thought based communication, it is incoherent when he thinks at me and I think at him, but I can feel what he is feeling and he feels what I feel I guess.  He feels a whole lot of grief, hate, spite, and murderous intention.  It is not pleasant sharing an emotional bond with Fallen.  Fallen doesn't like me, but is commanded by me.

On to what this does though.  In addition to my vision, I can see Fallen's vision.  It is much like the Angel Band's vision, but it is a more complete field of vision and there is even less substance to the physical world.  There is also a greater substance to spiritual content of people.  Other than the shared vision Fallen can move a good deal away from me, but he can only go about 100' away from me.  He goes straight through stuff, up and down as well as side to side.  He can even poof in and out inside this area.  His direct effect on people I can see with the Angel band.  He can influence their spirit.  I guess it is nifty, the content of their spirit's light can be dimmed, it can be made more red (anger), or more purple which I am assuming is fear.  During purple a person will act paranoid almost, like they are being followed.

I can get tired when Fallen is apart from me, as well as my breath is standard in temperature.  I will explore what this stuff can be used for more later.  Night everybody.

Patrol - 8/30/10

Out again this last night, and going again tonight.  I actually found something I'm proud of tonight.  A guy came out of a club with a girl crying.  So I decided I should either let it go or trail em.  I decided to follow them just to make sure the girl was okay.  I can trail pretty well between my fancy Angel Band vision and my stealthy gear.  Anyway, the guy took her to a place I believe was his place.  I think he was going to rape her, he smacked her around a little.  It was either domestic violence or a soon to be something bad.  I saw a window open on one side of the house.  So what I did was broke the bathroom window to distract the guy.  Then I went through the open window.  And when the guy was in the bathroom I went into the room the girl was in and locked it.  She was actually passed out and it was on the first floor of the apartment so it was actually pretty easy.  I like these dirty nasty apartment complexes that people in trashy areas live in, they are simple.  Anyway, I picked her up and carried her out through the window.  People are kind of a pain to carry.  Anyway, went to the park, since the park is pretty shady and vacant at night.  You can't see in it from the street so it is actually a little more on the dangerous side.  I looked on her license.  Took her to her home, and actually stayed there for the night to make sure the guy didn't come by.  He did come by and I beat him in the face.  When he got there, then I drugged him with some non drowsy head cold medicine and scotch I found in the girls place.  That messes with peoples memories, usually erases them.  Anyway, since he was out, and I figured he wouldn't remember the night since they had both come out of a bar and had obviously been drinking, I headed out the next morning.

I wrote a letter explaining what happened for the girl. I hope she can take care of herself. And hopefully she doesn't miss the scotch.

No money made haha, but I felt good about it.

Patrol - 8/29/10

Working off some steam.  Will explain in a bit.  I found that when I'm angry I get the urge to do unacceptable things more.  I guess it is a side effect of the Demon Band.  And by unacceptable I mean I have greater violent tendencies.  Tonight I found myself kicking a man while he was down just to kick him.  So I stopped.  I'm going to start keeping a medkit on me after tonight though.  I split the guys skin above his eye.  He probably needed medical attention and stitches.  I jumped an upper class drug deal tonight so I think I will be set for a little while and I will at least be free to buy some gear.  Apparently Side Kick Guy is vending hero gear.  The drug dealer was dealing powder cocaine.  The white suit buying from him was paying $1.5k.  White suit came out of the alley behind the drug dealer and when I smacked down drug dealer, suit shot and grazed me.  I already hate bullet wounds more than anything else.  But I was mad and I could see he was getting ready to come around the corner, so I bashed him in the face with my shield.  I knocked the gun away with my bat when he hit the ground and started kicking him around.  This is when I realized I was enjoying it, and I can't have that.  I'm starting to put together more efficient ways to make money though.  I've decided if they have a gun, why not take the bullets with me.  I don't want to keep the gun and end up killing somebody or be an arms dealer, but gun shops buy bullets, so why not?  More so tonight I am getting the idea that I am expected.  That was the only light combat tonight.  I hit two other groups.  And I ended up making about $2k total.  I also picked up 42 bullets.  I need to learn how to sort bullets now.

I've been keeping things private with all my personal affairs since I don't want to make any enemies.  But I'm moving soon, so I'm going to be distanced from my people anyway, and I don't think anyone will learn about them.  The family is conflicted over my heading out.  Mom wants me to stay.  Dad thinks it is a great idea to go.  Woman doesn't want me to go.  But she also doesn't want to come with me.  I've kept her in the loop of what is going on, maybe not right from the beginning.  But she picked up on the bullet wounds since I was hiding out at her place instead of staying home.  I figured somebody would notice that, so the one who will keep my secret better was chosen.  I hope to stay in touch with her, but I think I am going to end up having to leave everything behind when I move.  I would like to keep them all anonymous in relation to me. Changing lives is a little stressful but I imagine it will get easier as it progresses.

Back in Business

Going to head out next week to my new place. Going to head out on patrol tonight. Need practice hiding wounds, and need a place to not be questioned. I'll be careful this whole week, but then I can go off and start being reckless.

Bleh

Second day out, I'm getting better but I may be out for one more day. I will see how it is tomorrow.  I think I may just be better by then.  But then I can get back to work.  And I found a place to move to, a place over near Cincy. But that place is full of crime, it would be a good place to create an apartment lair.  I just need to make sure I can pay up when it comes to be the beginning of each month.

Taking the day Off

Moving doesn't hurt with the Demon Band on, but it hurts when it is off.  The Demon Band makes stuff heal way faster but without medical attention I feel like crap when it is off.  I wonder what it is doing at a molecular level?  Laying around all day.  Looked for apartments online.

Patrol - 8/25/10

Not a good night at all.  Got shot, this time it was a bad wound.  I got shot in the chest.  I'm alive, but out of commission for awhile.  I don't know what kind of internal damage there is, but I am stable with the band.  When I take it off it I have a lot more pain.  I guess I just heal faster with the band on and when it is off I'm just a normal human healing rate.  The other wound is pretty much gone though, and none of the knife wounds are here anymore.  I think I need to move into my own place.  I am old enough to be doing something like that after all I guess.  Maybe not the age most people move out, but I could always go somewhere the "job" could take me.

Interesting story, when I was out and about getting shot.  I did pass out for a few moments I guess.  But when I woke up, I think I saw death.  He is kind of scary.  He didn't say anything to me.  He was just standing over me.  I couldn't see his face, a cloud of ash was around his feet, and he was robed in black with a hood like you would think death should look like.  Maybe the portrait of death is that way because somebody else really had a face to face with him and the picture was believed.  When I was alive, I guess death had no interest because he turned away to walk and then phased out of sight.  This was all because of the Angel Band's ability.  But I guess since death phased out when he left, spirits aren't the same movement based system in their spirit-y world like people are in the physical world.  And, if death exists... does that mean there are a lot of deaths?  Because he clearly shouldn't have time to wait to see if one person is going to get back up or not when they die.  To many people die for that.  I don't want to have to think to hard about it.

I think during an upcoming off day I may go visit a cemetery just to see if those places are any more 'spiritual'.

Bad Night

So the Demon Band gives you nightmares.  But I did heal up a lot.  I guess when I was dreaming the demon that the Demon Band ate was in there with me.  He was representative of just a flying skull that looks like how candles start to look when it is melting.  He had a deep red glow in his eyes, like the color of blood.  And he followed me everywhere in my dream, speaking in a language I couldn't understand.  I guess it is like this whenever I wear the Demon Band. I'm just not in my subconscious to notice that he's there.  I wonder if the demon speaks to me whenever I wear the band too?  Oh well, I can handle a bad dream or two.

Tonight I'm going out on patrol again, and apparently SuperFantastic is out of commission for a day.  More baddies for me.

Recovery Day

Went to the gym today, since I still have the gunshot wound decided to tread away from upper body since I am letting the bands sleep during the day. I figure if I wear the Demon Band at night it will be good for healing up :).
Did a good deal of cardio even though I may not be needing it.  I think my natural body is getting some athletic conditioning from whatever I do with the bands on.  I could run my a nice 15mph for an hour, so 15 miles. I guess that is a good cardio.  I also did a leg workout, and my leg weights are a bit above average. But no significant weight increases, squating/deadlifting 450lbs, quad.ext. ham.curl 150lbs. Things like that.

I started a martial arts class. It is going to have a monthly fee of about $200, so it better be really effective. But they also have their own gym at the dojo, so canceling my other gym membership. I can't wear the band when practicing martial arts though, that would give me away. So I guess I'm going to have to get beaten up a bit every now and then. Since I don't plan to stop making hero funds anytime soon I'm going to start investing in lots of physical conditioning stuff. I think I may even switch over profession if this goes well.

SuperFantastic seems to be into getting gear right now too. So I maybe we can get some tips for each other.

Patrol 8/22/10

Still have the $50. Done nothing with it yet. Maybe, I will just open up a bank account and let hero earning stockpile?

Okay, I'm healing pretty fast. The bullet that grazed me cut along the surface and it is healing way to fast when I have the Demon Band on.  I just have it on at night too because I buried it during the day.  But over the course of the night it is visibly getting better.  Not like, boom better!  But still way faster than it should.

Sunday night, I figured I would pay my respects to God for giving me this gear so I patrolled from church to church. I found more drug dealers in spots. I figure if I am going to open a bank account I better have something to put in it.
Looked up the street value of cocaine, powder, 1 gram,  can be $100-$200.  That is some serious business, and if I have the ability to get better fast. I could start up some funds from reckless heroism.
I can't see to far with the Angel Band, but it is really helping me ambush. And I figure so long as I can get in non lethal or permanent damage shots it is not going to blow back to much on myself or my conscious.  Demon Band is good for... confidence... But maybe it will get better sometime.
Anyway, beat on two groups of baddies last night.  Over all about $300.
I got a real fight on the second one as well.  There were 4 guys, but it was a two to two deal they were doing. I guess one guy was with the vendor as a guard. But they were headed different ways out of the alley, so I figured it would be another me vs 2 fight.  I downed the one guy with a surprise baseball bat, that was pretty casual.  But the other two heard from their end of the alley and came to help.  I was wrestling with the other guy at my end.  But the other two caught up to me and the guy I was fighting with.  The alley was skinny and they couldn't really get to me with the other guy in front of them, but they pushed us both out of the alley into the street.  I guess because I was in the center so they didn't pull any guns.  But knives were pulled by two of the guys.  I got cut up a bit, on my upper back because I pulled my improv shield to guard me in the front.  It was really fast, I don't know how all I got out of it but cuts that aren't deep heal fast and pain doesn't last to long. Either way it was just a brawl because eventually both the knives stuck in my shield because of the gel I have in it.  I didn't think it would be useful for that, but it was a nice bit of luck. Punches don't bother me at all really, other than the initial phase that they give.  I started yelling at a point during the brawl and that shook up whoever was in front of me because they could feel my breath.  It made them do things like shield their eyes with their hands.  Smart move for the eyes, bad for getting punched in the stomach.

Anyway, I need fighting lessons. I think I'm going to start going to a dojo.

Patrol Night - 8/21/10

First night report. I'm not listing locations where I was at because then the baddies may expect me at some point.  I didn't really see any violent crime.  Drug deals, yes, but no violent crime.  I figure watching enough drug deals will end in a violent crime.
But an incident did happen, I decided not to let every opportunity slip through my fingers. Waited around a corner basically, as they walked towards the exit to a back alley, I could see them walking towards the exit because of the Angel band, but they couldn't see me.  It was two guys, so I two handed the bat and smashed one right as he came around the corner in the gut. He went down and the other guy jumped back and pulled a gun and shot. It clipped me on my arm at the shoulder as I was jumping behind my wall from where I jumped them. I didn't expect them to be that fast on the quick draw. Nice surprise, my wound started to take care of itself. Not fast or anything, it just kind of scabbed up really fast. I didn't pay much attention at the time though. I grabbed my improv shield.  The guy I could still see was in the alley from the lights in his eye.  They were really bright and the color was alternating between purple and red. I guess he was scared and angry. But I was kind of scared too at the time. I figured he would shoot at whatever he saw first. So I got the handle of my can lid around my forearm and stuck it out a bit and yelled.  He shot 5 bullet and then the hammer was sounding but not firing anymore. So I rushed him from around the corner and knocked him down with my shield and kicked him in the gut. Pinned him down and reached in his coat to find the drugs, then I lit them up with my breath and threw them down.  I also took the money that was used in the drug deal because I didn't know what to do from there.  It was about $50.  I can't keep it though, if I start just having extra money people will get suspicious.  Not like a big gash in my arm isn't suspicious though.

Anyone have an idea what I should do? I was thinking start funding for superhero stuff or just donate it. Maybe I will need some medical expenses along the way even, I hope not.

Gear #1

Okay, I'm headed out tonight.  Figured I should gear up appropriately.  I don't have real gear though.  Black shirts, pants, the snow caps that pull down over your face.  So in other words, dressed like I'm out to rob a bank.  Black blends with night well.
Second set of things I'm bringing... baseball bat, aluminum.  It is going to work, and it is non lethal.  The area I'm in is hot for violent crime, so I wanted to look out for bullets some how.  Best I can do though is one of those old circular trash can lids filled with ballistic gel. (http://www.myscienceproject.org/gelatin.html) Figure it out!  I'm going to wear the shield on my back for the most part. I'm hoping that the ballistic gel will slow down bullets enough that they will not go through the metal of the lid.  This hasn't been tested though.
I spray painted my bat and trashcan lid black, don't want anything shiny on me for potential baddies to see.  Post tomorrow to tell you all how it went!

Where and When to Patrol

Apparently SuperFantastic is patrolling already.  I need to start working a beat.  My theory worked though.  Demon Band is back up today.  It was even working a bit better at the start of the day.  Breath, it lights paper on fire instantly.  I think that is cool, but not really a useful power still.  I need to find out a use for these powers.

I think I'll patrol only at night, I can always keep warm and aware at least when other people will be cold and tired.  Thank you Demon Band.  And I don't need much light because of the Angel Band.  I can see people regardless of the light around me.  Maybe the darkness will give me a good element of surprise.  I'm going to start patrol tomorrow night.  Wish me luck.

Power Discovery #3

So I was looking at the box where I found the bands.  The inscription on the back says something about spirits being buried in the earth to gain strength. I'm going to try and bury the bands in the ground like when I found them buried. Maybe the spirit inside the Demon Band is wearing out and that is why it seems to be on low batteries. I am also wondering what runs the Angel Band since it is full of juice everyday. Maybe tomorrow I will have something interesting to write about. Until then, I'm out to town.

Boring Day in the Life

Didn't feel the need to try and work with the gear today.  I played with the Demon Band, it is still running on low batteries or something.  Went about my normal day.  Cooked, worked, cooked, gym, cooked, Burn Notice... heck yes.

Michael Weston probably doesn't need super powers to get anything done.  Sounds like a winning game plan to me. I was looking at the box though. It still has the stuff written on the back. I should probably try and find out what that is all about.

Power Failure

Big problem today. I tried to get the Demon Band working. It gems glow is very faint. It seems to be losing its juice... whatever it's juice is. Maybe it ate the demon it absorbed? I can't think of what to do.
Angel Band works just fine though. It started to grow faint after using it most of the day. And by that I mean, my vision got even more hazy and foggy with it's vision.  But the difference between the two is that today it worked just fine.

Power Discovery #2

Just a note, I am naming the black band the Demon Band and the white band the Angel Band.
Also: The Demon Band takes a lot out of you when you take it off. I am feeling the workout from yesterday a lot now that the band is off.  Demon Band also seemed to be losing power towards the end of the day.  My breath started to lose a lot of it's heat.

Today I worked a little with the Angel Band.  It can be used on either arm just like the other.  This one seems pretty intricate.  I didn't get to check out to much the other day because I was more interested in the other band when I first wore them.  But I noticed a few key things with this band.
First off, I can see through the secondary method of sight whether or not my eye is open or closed. It is kind of like I can see through things, or more like physical objects are an afterthought.  The vision only goes for about 20 feet in front of me as well. It has a really limited range of sight on its own.
Second, I haven't seen any spirits like the first I saw before the Demon Band absorbed it.  But people all have an indistinct glow that come from their eyes.  I think it is like seeing the glow of their spirit. Some people are bright, and some people are dim.  The glow in people's eyes changes colors as well.

Things I found interesting is I can see people through walls because of the light, but their body is just as faint and hazy as everything else.  It is only the light in their eyes that stands out to me.  If somebody has a bright light they are not necessarily very awake or active, just as a dim light appears not to mean they are tired.  The color of the light changes I assume based on emotion.  Anger is red; sad is a dark blue; happy is green; the light seems to change constantly in color and intensity.

I guess it is cool that I can see people through walls. But once again, I am thinking that this is not the most useful thing ever.

Power Discovery #1

Today I worked with the band that absorbed the little demon. I used it on my right arm today. It makes the right or left eye change based on which arm I have it. Solution for public use, wear shades... I found a pair of aviators in my house.

I went to the gym today for cardio and a pecs and tricep workout, started with my regular max out to see if I was any stronger. Sadly I was disappointed, I can still only bench 140lbs. A bonus though is that I can lift it as many times as I want. The rest of the free weight workout was the same, as many reps as I felt like doing, no getting worn out. I got on a treadmill and after about 30 minutes of running 18mph at a 30 degree incline I got bored. Wasn't even winded. I did not feel like I was working out the entire time I was at the gym.

When I got home I thought about seeing if my breath could do anything. I breathed on an ice cube. It melted after a few breaths. I couldn't really think what to do since my breath isn't really that hot. Either way, I sneezed after awhile. So I went to get a tissue. Blew my nose... the tissue caught on fire and I burnt myself. I got out a box of matches and I am lighting them with quick breaths currently while writing this post.

Anyone have suggestions for me for trying stuff out? Tomorrow I am going to test out the other band. Later internet!

Heros Creeping out of the Woodwork

Hey I just heard about a starter hero's blog. Super Human Fantastic Man I believe. I don't have a power, but I have something my great gramps built. My dad used to tell me is that his grampa thought he was a warlock. It was like a family joke since he just tried to build weird jewelery like armlets and never spoke anything else of it. My dad told me once he built one how he wanted and then gave up the life style for the family's image. My dad told me he buried it out in the back yard though.

So recently I went out into the backyard at the house because now my grandpa owns the property now. I got in trouble for tearing up some of the bushes, but I found the box. The box had "Perish All Mortals" written on the front side. The top had a skull carved onto it, and the sides had those stars like you see in movies when people try to summon demons.  The back panel had an inscription, I guess it is Latin, I don't care to much. The bottom is just flat. It is a sturdy wooden box, surprised it lasted in the ground this long.

So I looked inside, and there were two bands inside the box. One is made of some kind of white wood, has two rings around the top and bottom of the band that look like Gold. Around the center are 4 gems which I assume are topaz, encrusted evenly around.  The other looked about the same except the wood is just a normal brown color, the bands are rock instead of gold, and the gems are onyx instead I guess.

I took the box home with me. I didn't tell gramps or my family. Still haven't told anyone till now, but I don't think my parents will find this blog and be able to put the pieces together. The bands fit over my hands so I put the white one on my right arm because it looked better. When I slid it got past my hand and sized to my wrist, in fact it changes size up and down my arm and just sticks where put. It allowed me to see hazy with my right eye. If I close my left eye I see a small gray area like I have tunnel vision, and it gets foggy like thick fog around the border of my vision. When it is on the topaz glow gold. In a mirror it looks like my pupil is a topaz and is constantly changing like a sunburst. I found out quickly that it allows me to see spirits.  But the other band I put on my left arm, it didn't change my vision but it makes the white of my eye turn red.

I turned and saw the box. The hazy vision let me see a demon I guess. It said something I couldn't understand, then my left arm made a purple and black mist that spiraled like how a vortex looks and my arm ate the demon. Then my left band changed to black, the onyx turned red and glows now as well, and the stone turned into a metal that looks like iron.

This stuff gave me a lot of hype. But I don't really have any cool powers. The bands work separately. I don't really get tired when wearing the evil band. Maybe I could start running marathons, but it doesn't make me any faster. My breath is really hot and in my throat I can see an orange glow. I hoped I could breath fire, but it hasn't happened. So I have endurance now, downside is my eyes will change colors because of the bands.  Seems like my great grandpa made a mistake.

I am going to try and scope some of this stuff out in the coming days. Maybe post again if I get interesting results.
